Dilbert’ı duymuşsunuzdur ya da mutlaka bir karikatürünü görmüşsünüzdür. İşte o Dilbert’ın yaratıcısı, Amerikalı yazar ve çizer Scott Adams’ın kitabı ‘How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big: Kind of the Story of My Life’ ‘tan bahsetmek istiyorum sizlere.
Kitabın başında, Scott kendini profesyonel bir ‘basitleştirici‘ olarak tanımlıyor. Kendi hayatındaki başarısızlıklarını konu alan otobiyografisinde başarısızlığın aslında çok da kötü bir şey olmadığını anlatan Scott, kişisel gelişim kitaplarındaki klişe motivasyon cümlelerinin dışına çıkmayı başarmış. Önceki yazıda bahsettiğim Ataman Özbay’ın başarı hikayelerinden sonra Scott Adams’ın başarısızlık hikayelerini okurken gayet keyif aldım. Zaten Amazon.com üzerindeki 223 yorumda ortalama 5 üzerinden 4.6 derece alması da kitabın başarısını gösteriyor.
Başarısızlık hikayelerini okurken sizi güldürecek kısımlarla birlikte, Scott’un yaşadığı ruhsal sağlık sorunu ve buna bağlı konuşamama problemini aşmasından çıkarılacak önemli dersler var.
